The U.T. Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu on May 15, 2026, issued the Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Marine Fishing Regulation (5th Amendment) Rules, 2025.
The following amendments have been stated:
(8) Use of Turtle Excluder Device (TED) in Fishing Trawlers:
(a) “Turtle Excluder Device” is a specialized device that allows a captured sea turtle to escape when caught in a trawl net”.
(b) “In case of fishing by Trawling, no trawl net shall be used for fishing without a Turtle Excluder Device (TED) attached before the cod end of the trawl net”
